Luther is a sweet, silly, high-energy Staffordshire Terrier mix, about 1 year old and weighing 55 pounds. He's a pup with a heart full of love and a personality that will keep you smiling. With his bouncy floppy ears and playful spirit, he's ready to find a forever home that will enjoy both his zoomies and his snuggles. Luther loves to play fetch and tug, and he's happy to engage in a good chase. He's gentle with other dogs, often showing a submissive gesture if he meets a more dominant dog, then settling into respectful play. He walks well on a leash, even with another dog, though he can be a bit barky at other dogs when seen on leash – this is something that can improve with training. He has calmly met cats and ignored them, and he was gentle and loved the attention from children as young as 6 years old. Luther is house-trained and sleeps in his crate, settling within a few minutes. He's not yet ready to be left loose in the house as he's still learning what's a toy. He doesn't show resource guarding over food or toys. Luther is outgoing, curious, playful, smart, silly, and affectionate. He loves attention, pets, and kisses, and melts for belly scratches. When meeting strangers, he can be a bit skittish at first but warms up quickly. In the car, he's gaining confidence but enjoys looking out the window. His floppy ears are adorable on walks, and his playful energy is infectious.
Ideal Home
Luther would thrive in an active home that can provide regular exercise and continued guidance. A backyard would be a bonus for his zoomies, but daily walks and playtime are also great. He's happy to be the only dog or have canine siblings, but he will always prioritize bonding with his people.
Ongoing Health
Luther is neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Luther is house-trained and crate-trained, though he may protest briefly when first crated. He is still learning what is and isn't a toy, so he cannot be left loose in the house unsupervised. Continued training and socialization are recommended.
