Essex

Essex is as close to a Cockapoo as they come, based on his DNA! He's an approximately 5-year-old, 10-pound bundle of fun who loves to amuse himself for hours with his toys and enjoys racing around the yard. He also likes to playfully chase and bark at other dogs, so he would do best as an only dog or with one other laid-back canine companion. Essex would be a great fit for someone older. He walks well on a leash and is pretty well house-trained, though he does occasionally mark other dogs' beds. He's a very precocious and alpha little dog who needs an experienced owner. When rescued, Essex was very matted and had to be shaved down to the skin, but his coat is now filling out beautifully!

Ideal Home

Essex would do best as an only dog or with one other laid-back companion. He is not recommended for homes with children under the age of 8.

Ongoing Health

Essex had a full grooming session after being rescued due to matting. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations and monthly preventatives.

Training & Support

Essex is pretty well house-trained, but he does have a tendency to mark other dogs' beds. He is an alpha dog who needs an experienced owner.
