Winston is a charming, 28-lb mix breed boy, estimated to be between 1½ and 2 years old. He has a wonderful, friendly temperament and absolutely loves people of all ages. He’s been fantastic with kids, including a loud, energetic 4½-year-old, and happily soaks up attention from both adults and children. Winston is a toy enthusiast through and through and will gladly empty his toy basket multiple times a day. He enjoys playing fetch with a ball and knows how to have fun without being overwhelming. He walks well on a leash, knows how to sit, and is currently working on “wait” while his food bowl is being put down. He’s about 99% house trained, goes into a crate with a little encouragement, and takes treats very gently. Socially, Winston loves dogs his own size. Cats are unknown, but he does have a higher prey drive for rabbits and squirrels, so a secure environment is important. He enjoys spending time looking out the door, watching the world go by, and being close to his people. He does get nervous during thunderstorms, but with reassurance and comfort, he settles back in. With his sweet nature, great manners, and love for human connection, Winston would make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loyal, affectionate companion. He’s truly a special dog and ready to find his forever home.
