Tipper Tater is a truly unique pup with some special features that are sure to steal your heart! We think he may be a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix, and he's about 1 year old and weighs around 14 lbs. His most striking features are his adorable, expressive ears and his beautiful heterochromatic eyes – one warm brown and one a stunning ocean blue! He has a gentle, quiet presence and is a calming companion, happy to simply be near you and take everything in. Tipper is a "slow burn" when it comes to making friends; he likes to observe from a distance and take his time to trust, making those moments when he does open up incredibly meaningful. He's crate trained and quiet in his crate, and is also potty trained and a wonderful houseguest. He enjoys treats and is curious about toys, though he's still figuring out what to do with them!
Ideal Home
Tipper would do best in a lower-energy home with a calmer environment, where he won't be rushed and can move at his own pace. He's not looking for a busy social calendar and would thrive in a predictable routine. A home with a yard would be a better fit than apartment living for him. He is good with other dogs, preferring to quietly coexist rather than engage in play, and has shown to be respectful and polite around cats.
Ongoing Health
No ongoing health conditions are noted.
Training & Support
Tipper is crate trained and potty trained. He is still learning about toys, and his adopters should be prepared to help him discover his playful side as he settles in. His sensitive nature means he benefits from adopters who are patient and allow him to approach them on his own terms.
