About Bear

Meet Bear 🧸🐾

What kind of bear is he? Definitely a teddy bear.

Bear is a 2-year-old, neutered male pittie who came to us as a surrender. We were told he might struggle in a shelter environment - that he could shut down or act out. And while he didn't settle as easily as some dogs do, we never gave up on him.

Because underneath it all, Bear is just a sensitive boy who lacks confidence.

He doesn't need "fixing." He needs a leader. Someone to show him he's safe, that he's good, and that he belongs in this world.

Once Bear began to trust us, we saw his true personality start to shine. Knowing he would benefit from extra structure and guidance, we sent him to foster with The Dog Company, a local training and boarding facility.

There, he worked on:

Sit

Down

Place

Stay

Leash skills

Socialization

And guess what? He learned. He excelled. He was ready.

But still... no adoption interest.

Now Bear is in a foster home, and he's thriving. He is:

House trained

Crate trained

Happy and settled in a home environment

So why hasn't he been adopted?

Sometimes Bear doesn't make the best first impression. New situations can make him timid at first. He may seem unsure. But give him a little patience - just a moment to process - and suddenly he's wiggling all over for butt scratches and belly rubs.

That shy, hesitant first impression? That's not the real Bear.

The real Bear is silly. Zoomy. Affectionate. Loyal. A total love bug once he feels safe.

He just needs someone willing to look past the first few minutes and see the sweet teddy bear underneath.

Can you give Bear that chance?

We promise he'll repay you with the cutest wiggly love. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 53.4lbs Age: 2yrs 5mths 1wks Animal has been Neutered
