About Bruno

Meet Bruno! This handsome brown gentle giant has a big heart and an even bigger personality. He was found wandering an apartment complex, clearly frustrated and uncomfortable, wearing a pinch collar that was digging into his neck. Despite his rough start, Bruno has shown just how resilient and special he truly is. His personality is impossible not to love; he can be moody and stubborn one moment, then goofy and rambunctious the next. His expressive face gives away every thought and feeling, making him endlessly entertaining and easy to read. Since coming into foster care, Bruno has been learning that the world isn't out to hurt him. He has made incredible progress with both car and people reactivity. What once looked like lunging and pulling has turned into calm sits and patient waiting. With consistent training, Bruno now pauses, focuses on his treats, and waits calmly for cars or people to pass before happily continuing his walk. Bruno knows his commands and is happy to perform—except one. When asked to “down,” he flat-out refuses, shaking his head and dramatically slapping his paws as if to say, “Absolutely not.”

Ideal Home

Bruno would thrive in a home with an experienced adopter who is familiar with the Cane Corso breed. He needs a single-dog household and cannot live with small animals, cats, or small children due to his size and occasional clumsiness.

Ongoing Health

Bruno is healthy and has no known ongoing health conditions.

Training & Support

Bruno is a smart and capable boy who is eager to please, though he does have a quirky refusal of the "down" command. He has made excellent progress with his reactivity and continues to do well with consistent training, positive reinforcement, and clear boundaries.
