Meadow is a spirited, bright, huggable, beautiful Husky pup, approximately 1 year old. She seems very happy to be in a home after her long journey to Colorado from Texas, where she was pulled from an euthanasia list. She is a sweet and energetic girl, responding well to her new environment and happy to attach herself to her new people. She will make a devoted and fun-loving pet for a lucky family.
Ideal Home
Meadow is fascinated by our caged cockatiel, so she should not be left unsupervised with birds. She is friendly towards people and dogs she meets on walks and enjoyed a playdate with a 3-year-old granddog. She was indifferent towards 5- and 7-year-old grandkids, showing more interest in their dog.
Ongoing Health
Meadow tested positive for Lyme disease and Ehrlichia while in Texas and was treated for both prior to transport. She arrived in Colorado already spayed and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Although she may continue to test positive on future screening tests due to prior exposure, she has been treated and this is not expected to cause any issues moving forward, as she will not be used for breeding.
Training & Support
Meadow is housebroken and has had no accidents in the house. She sleeps in a crate and cries for a few minutes when first crated at bedtime, but then settles down for the entire night. She devours her kibble and enjoys hunting for her food in KONG toys, which also makes mealtime more fun. She enjoys playing with all toys and is energetic on walks.
