Murray

Meet Murray, a handsome Great Dane with a giant heart, playful spirit, and legendary love of plush toys. After surviving severe neglect, he is enjoying his fresh start and is ready for a loving forever home.

Murray adores people, lounging in the sun, zoomies, food, walks, and proudly showing visitors his treasured toys. He generally gets along well with other dogs and currently lives with two Great Danes, but he plays loudly and enthusiastically and does not like sharing his toys. Dog introductions should be slow and thoughtful, with companions who respect boundaries.

Murray currently lives with three cats but is nervous around them. He may do best without cats or with a calm, dog-savvy cat. He enjoys people of all sizes, though older children are recommended because he can be unaware of his size during play.

Ideal Home

• A secure, sturdy fenced yard is required.
• Older children are recommended.
• Any canine companions should have solid temperaments and respectful manners around toys.
• A home without cats, or with a calm, dog-savvy cat, may be the best fit.

Ongoing Health

Murray has reached a healthy maintenance weight and is feeling better than ever. His body is healing after a difficult past.

Training & Support

Murray is house-trained, uses a dog door, and does well with free roam while his foster is away. He is learning to sit and wait patiently for treats, and his love of food makes him highly motivated to learn. He walks well with a Gentle Leader head harness; without one, he may pull strongly. His foster has not observed food aggression toward people or dogs.
