About Blink

Meet Blink, a sweet and sensitive 1-year-old Lab mix weighing about 40lbs. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on all his preventatives. Blink is still very much a puppy at heart and continues to learn his manners as he grows into the wonderful dog he’s meant to be. Blink loves to play hard and has that fun, bouncy energy you’d expect from a young pup. He reads other dogs’ cues beautifully and enjoys canine friends, though he may bark first in excitement before inviting them to play. He has been friendly but mostly indifferent around cats and has done well out of his crate around children, though he hasn’t had much direct playtime with them yet. He has shown no signs of resource guarding or food aggression and shares nicely. He’s also fully housebroken! While Blink enjoys playtime, he also loves to lounge and relax. When left alone, he’s often happy to nap or entertain himself with toys. He is crate trained and can be crated for up to nine hours if needed, though he can also be left out unsupervised as he typically just settles in and rests. (Just be sure to tuck those shoes away as he sometimes borrows them).

Ideal Home

Blink would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes. He needs a patient, understanding adopter who can gently guide him through his fear-based anxiety and celebrate each small victory along the way. Blink is sensitive to the world around him, and walks can sometimes be scary for him. He startles easily and may run to hide if he’s unsure, so he does best when allowed to approach people on his own terms.

Ongoing Health

Blink is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on all his preventatives.

Training & Support

Blink is still learning his manners and needs continued positive reinforcement as he grows. He is still adjusting to life off the streets and can be very sensitive to the world around him. He occasionally needs a lift home when he feels overwhelmed on walks. Stairs are also a work in progress. With kindness, consistency, and love, Blink is sure to blossom into a loyal, playful, and devoted companion.
