Meet Leila, a sweet and soulful 6-year-old spayed female German Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who weighs around 40 pounds. Leila is a deeply loving and cuddly companion who forms strong bonds with her person. She's happiest when she's by your side, whether lounging or curled up on the sofa. Leila is incredibly intuitive and offers comfort and calm when you need it most. While she enjoys quiet indoor time, she also has a playful, athletic side and loves to zoom around and show off her impressive jumping skills!
Ideal Home
Leila would thrive in a peaceful, dog-free household with a large, securely fenced yard where she can explore and play. She would do best with someone who works remotely or has a flexible schedule, allowing for plenty of quality time together.
Ongoing Health
Leila takes daily medication for incontinence and is prescribed trazodone for high-stress situations like vet visits to help manage her anxiety. She is up to date on her vaccines and recently had a dental cleaning.
Training & Support
Leila is treat-motivated and a fast learner, having mastered many commands. She is crate-trained, muzzle-trained, and e-collar trained, which provides her with structure and security. Due to separation anxiety, crating her when alone is ideal until she feels fully secure. She can be wary of men and requires slow, patient introductions to new people, preferably outdoors for a short walk before entering the home. Leila is reactive to dogs and has a high prey drive, so cats and small animals are not a good fit. She needs a confident handler on walks and benefits from continued structure and consistency.

Transporation
Leila is currently in a foster home in Washington state and is available for local meet-and-greets. Video chats can be arranged. Transports run every few weeks, and approved adopters will be scheduled for the next available transport.
