A true diamond in the ruff, Brie is a stunning 3-year-old livestock guardian breed who weighs just over 60 pounds. She has overcome a difficult past with incredible resilience and has blossomed into a devoted and loyal companion. Independent thinkers by nature, livestock guardians like Brie are known for their protective instincts and thoughtful personalities. Brie may be a bit reserved with strangers at first, preferring to assess new people on her own terms. Once she trusts you, however, she will be your devoted shadow. She has done well with other dogs, but slow introductions are key, and she appreciates calm canine companions. Brie is looking for a home where she can be a cherished family member, enjoying both indoor snuggles and outdoor adventures.
Ideal Home
Brie would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely explore and enjoy the outdoors. She is not looking for an outdoor-only home. Given her breed and cautious nature, a home with older children who understand respectful interaction with dogs is recommended. She has not been tested with cats, but squirrels are a definite interest! Experience with livestock guardian breeds or a willingness to learn about their unique qualities would be a significant plus.
Ongoing Health
Brie has a history of heartworm and has completed treatment. Her coat has grown back beautifully after a period of hair loss. All dogs are vetted by a licensed veterinarian, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines before adoption.
Training & Support
Brie is new to indoor living but has shown great promise in her kennel, keeping her space clean and her bedding intact. With a little patience and consistency, she is expected to adjust beautifully to home life. Her guardian breed nature means she's an independent thinker and protective, so understanding these traits will be key to her success.
