Meet Jillian, a delightful nearly 2-year-old pup with a personality as unique as her painted coat! Her big amber eyes will surely capture your heart. Jillian is a sweetheart who loves all humans, but she's still learning about personal space and can be a little too enthusiastic when showing her affection. She's a quick learner and has picked up commands like "sit," "wait," "hands in," "stay," and "lie down" with impressive speed.
Ideal Home
Jillian would thrive in a home with an active family or individual who is patient and understanding. She needs a home without other pets, as she has shown some reactivity issues with the resident dog. A house with a securely fenced yard (at least 6 feet high) is essential, as she has shown the ability to clear a 3-foot fence. Due to her tendency to bark, a house environment is preferred.
Ongoing Health
Jillian is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. She has been tested for heartworm and is negative.
Training & Support
Jillian is crate-trained and does well when left in her crate, especially when it's in a high-traffic area. She is also potty-trained and does well with prompts. She has a high prey drive and can exhibit excitable reactivity, so ongoing training for leash skills, such as "leave it," "wait," and "eyes," is beneficial. She is still working on her off-leash recall and learning to walk beside her handler without pulling. She would greatly benefit from continued work with a trainer, as many things are still new to her.
