Meet Maple 🍁

Maple is a 2-3 year old, 17-pound Rat Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a quietly charming personality. She bravely raised a litter of puppies who have all since found their homes, and now it's finally Momma Maple's turn to be the one cared for and cherished. Maple enjoys affection and will happily curl up beside you for cuddles, but she also values her independence and will do her own thing when she’s ready. Every now and then, she surprises you with playful bursts of energy—especially when her favorite ball is involved! Because of her past, the world can still feel a bit overwhelming at times, and Maple is learning that new experiences can be safe. She’s steadily building her confidence and will thrive with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to continue helping her explore through neighborhood walks or quiet park visits.

Ideal Home

Maple would thrive in a home where she doesn’t need to be crated while you’re away. An ideal home might be with someone who works from home, is retired, or can provide a calm, open environment during the day. She does well with other animals, especially those who are calm and smaller in size.

Training & Support

Maple can feel anxious when crated during the day, especially if left alone, and loud noises like the garbage truck can startle her. She sleeps great in her crate at night as long as it's near her people. Maple will likely need a few meet-and-greets or "day dates" to feel comfortable with her new person.
