Camila and Regina

Camila and Regina are two adorable, bonded Shih Tzu sisters, about 1 year and 10 months old, respectively. Camila, weighing around 8.6 lbs, is white with dark brown markings, while Regina, at about 8.2 lbs, is white with light brown markings. These sweet and affectionate girls absolutely adore people and love to be held, cuddled, and showered with attention. They greet everyone with wagging tails and happy bounces. They walk well on a leash, are comfortable in crates, and travel calmly in cars. Camila and Regina were found wandering together in Saltillo, Mexico, and after it was clear they had no owner, they were rescued, received a veterinary evaluation, and have been lovingly cared for at the shelter. They are now ready to find a home where they can continue their journey together, feeling safe, loved, and secure.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities would be ideal for Camila and Regina. They need a family with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs of rescued animals, including their potential need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly preferred, or a willingness to hire a professional trainer. Patience and high tolerance for rescued puppies are essential.

Ongoing Health

Camila and Regina have undergone a comprehensive health protocol including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive. They also have a health certificate and vaccination booklet. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences, and patience is crucial for building trust.

Training & Support

Camila and Regina are not house-trained, which is common for rescued pets who may not have had the opportunity for house-training. adopters should be prepared for this and understand that the shelter's focus is on the health and emotional rehabilitation of their pets. Success with these intelligent dogs will come from consistent positive reinforcement and understanding.

• If your application is a potential match, we will arrange a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with up to two of your references.
• Upon approval, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Transportation

Camila and Regina are currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and are ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip if adopted. We offer door-to-door delivery. Our transport company, based in Montana, will bring them to your home. This service includes all necessary legal documents, health certificates, and real-time updates during their journey. A transport fee of $400 USD covers this service.
