Artie is a fun-loving, high-energy 3-year-old Terrier mix who is always ready for her next adventure! Whether it's a long game of fetch, a run in the yard, or zooming around the house with her favorite toys, Artie brings enthusiasm and joy wherever she goes. She's incredibly smart, playful, and affectionate, and she absolutely loves people. Meeting new friends is one of her favorite things, and she greets strangers with pure excitement and a wagging tail. Artie is independent, outgoing, curious, and wonderfully silly. She's the kind of dog who will make you laugh daily, keep you moving, and then curl up beside you for snuggles at the end of the day. She’s ready to find her forever family and bring her big personality and even bigger heart into a loving home.
Ideal Home
Artie thrives in an active environment and will do best with a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and outdoor activities. She has done well with large dogs (50-100 lbs) in her foster home, though slow introductions are important. Her ideal home would be active, patient, and ready to continue her training, especially helping her learn how to settle calmly and share toys more comfortably. A yard or open space to run would be a huge bonus, and while she doesn’t need another dog, she would likely enjoy a playful canine companion. Artie should continue to be crated when left alone, as she is curious and can get into things on counters if unsupervised.
Ongoing Health
Artie is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Artie is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and staying crated about 4-6 hours during the day. She may whine a bit, but she settles. On leash, she may bark or pull when she sees other dogs, so continued training will help her polish those manners. She can be a little on edge at first and is protective of her toys, but she backs off quickly and has never escalated beyond that. She also recognizes when another dog is done playing.
