Nahla - ME

Nahla is a charming 9-year-old female Catahoula Leopard Hound, weighing around 55lbs. She's a bundle of energy who loves food, exploring the outdoors, and a good butt scratch. Nahla is a loyal protector of her home, keeping a watchful eye on any critters that wander by. She's a silly girl who loves to play, bask in the sun, or take a good nap. When excited, she can get the zoomies and might be a bit jumpy, but she's a quick learner and responds well to treats and gentle guidance. She also has a tendency to scratch doors when she's hungry or separated from her family for too long, but she loves her crate and will happily retreat there for a sense of security.

Ideal Home

Nahla would thrive in a rural setting where she has ample space to roam and explore. A home with a securely fenced yard would be ideal. She would likely struggle in a small home or urban environment.

Ongoing Health

Nahla is up to date on her vaccinations and is spayed and microchipped. She does have allergies to be aware of.

Training & Support

Nahla has a tendency to be jumpy and give love nips when excited, but she listens well when given clear cues and guided by treats. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She can scratch doors if left alone for extended periods or when she's anticipating a meal.

• After your application is approved, the foster parent for the dog you have selected will contact you to answer any questions and determine if the dog is a good match.
• If you do not have a particular dog in mind, we will keep your application on file and notify you of any suitable dogs that come into our rescue program.
