Josie is a sweet and loving companion for the whole family! This Staffordshire Terrier mix, estimated to be born around October 26, 2023, and weighing 41 lbs, is the perfect cuddle buddy for any occasion. She loves playing with her toys, snuggling with her foster siblings, sunbathing, and yes, even chicken nuggets! Josie has been living in a foster home with children and does wonderfully with them.
She has seamlessly acclimated to her foster home, proving to be potty trained and great on the leash. Josie even knows commands like "sit" and "stay." Being very treat motivated, she's eager to learn, obey, and become a cherished part of your pack. She does wonderfully well with other dogs, especially playful ones. Snuggling up on the couch is one of her favorite activities, and she's quick to catch a snooze there. She's happy sleeping on the couch or going for long walks. When she's fully rested, her absolute favorite activity is going on car rides – she's a perfect car-riding companion and gets them often!
Josie was rescued from the county shelter, where she was scheduled to be euthanized due to overcrowding. She ended up at the shelter as a neglect case, emaciated and clearly having had a rough start. She has come a long way since then and is still working on putting on a few more pounds, but she is ready to find her forever home.

Josie is a wonderful companion for families with children and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially playful ones.

Josie is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and may vary in pickup locations, potentially across city, county, and/or state lines. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles converted for dog transport. Adopters can track the van using the Life360 app and receive updates.
