Hello there! My name is Bean, and I'm a sweet, handsome puppy with a pouty face, expressive eyebrows, and big, clumsy paws. I'm a bit silly and quirky, and I love to ham it up and be the center of attention! I enjoy collecting my toys in my bed and showing them off proudly. I like to stay close to my humans and check in frequently. In fact, I love being the center of the action so much that I've even fallen asleep sitting up! I came up from Texas with my brother, who is with a different foster family.
Ideal Home
I'm a playful and attentive pup who thrives on attention. I'd love a family that has at least one person who can give me lots of love and spend time with me, whether at home or out and about. I enjoy being busy in the house and yard, followed by naps near my favorite people. A best friend to spend most of the day with would be wonderful! While I'm not currently living with other dogs, I have a lot of play energy, and I think another dog would be a great way for me to burn some of that off.
Ongoing Health
I am mostly potty trained, but sometimes I get so excited playing that I forget to ask to go outside and have an accident. I sleep soundly in my kennel all night, but during the day, I might protest a little when first put in my kennel before settling down after a few minutes.
Training & Support
I know "sit," and I love to show off this trick! I'm also learning "leave it" and the difference between toys and non-toys. I'm working on leash walking, but sometimes my stubborn mastiff side comes out, and I'd rather play in the house or yard. I'm a smart and attentive pup, and I think I'd do well in a training or obedience course in a few months when I'm a little older and more confident with new sights and smells. I absolutely love treats and food, but I also really love attention from my humans, and it doesn't take much to get me to focus. I'm a little shy at first but warm up quickly and am happy to make new friends, though I always check in with my foster parents. I live with three cats and initially try to play with them like puppies, but I back off when reminded they're cats. Most of the time, I don't pay them much attention. I haven't shown any prey drive issues so far. I'm generally submissive around other dogs, but I can be a little vocal when I want more attention. I'm happy to say hello or mind my own business when meeting other dogs on walks and at restaurants. The big Rottweiler next door and I share a fence, but I don't usually pay him much attention. Sometimes I bark and run around, but usually, I play on my own or with my foster parents. I would be a good dog for a first-time puppy owner!
