Parker is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 21 lbs. While his breed is a best guess, he embodies the spirit of a Portuguese Podengo. Parker truly shines when interacting with other dogs. He's currently thriving in a foster home with multiple canine companions, where he greets them politely and then peacefully goes about his day, content to be part of the pack. He would do best in a home with confident, friendly dogs who can help him feel secure.
Ideal Home
Parker would thrive in a multi-dog household where he can take his cues from his canine friends. He would also do well in a quieter apartment setting or a house with a yard where he can explore at his own pace. He needs a patient and understanding home that will give him the space to decompress and adjust at his own speed.

Parker is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, and he has been spayed/neutered.
Training & Support
Parker is house-trained and sleeps through the night. While he is shy with new people and takes affection slowly, he allows handling without issue and shows no signs of aggression. He is still building confidence on leash, and new environments can feel overwhelming, but he handles walks without fuss and will continue to improve with gentle guidance and continued exposure. He benefits from patience, calm guidance, and a safe space to become more comfortable.

Parker is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our USDA certified transport system, ensuring safe and comfortable travel with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies for transport. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
