Dixie is a delightful 8-month-old husky mix, weighing in at approximately 25 lbs, with the most captivating bright blue eyes you'll ever see! She was rescued in April 2026, found with her mom on a rainy day, bravely navigating highway traffic. A kind soul stopped to help, patiently coaxing them to safety with food and gentle encouragement. While her mom, a spaniel mix, has already found her forever home, Dixie is now ready for her own adventure. We believe Dixie will remain a smaller companion, as her mom was only 30 lbs full grown, and her dad's breed is unknown.
Ideal Home
Dixie thrives in a home that offers patience, understanding, and gentleness as she continues to learn to trust humans. A resident dog would be incredibly beneficial in helping her blossom, but if that's not possible, a home that can provide ample playdates or doggy daycare will also help her come out of her shell. She's learning to enjoy toys and is eager to discover new games.
Ongoing Health
Dixie has been spayed, is heartworm negative, and is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention. She has also received dewormer and will be given a clean bill of health by a licensed veterinarian before transport.
Training & Support
Dixie is kennel-trained and is making great progress learning commands. Her intelligence and eagerness to learn mean she'll master them quickly with some dedicated one-on-one time.
