Meet Waller, an 11-year-old poodle mix weighing 17 pounds. Waller is a sweet pup who, despite his initial shyness with strangers, has a strong desire to be loved. He can sometimes exhibit strong boundaries and fear, which may mean he always needs sedated grooming sessions. With patience, yummy treats, and short petting sessions, Waller can truly blossom and come out of his shell in the right home. He's potty trained, walks well on a leash, and enjoys car rides, especially watching the world go by from the window. Waller is also friendly with dogs and cats, though he prefers to keep his own space and maintain a distance from other animals.

Ideal Home

Waller would thrive in an adult-only home with experienced caregivers who understand the needs of fearful dogs.

Ongoing Health

Waller suffers from allergies and will need to be on Apoquel for life, which is a prescription medication.

Training & Support

Waller can occasionally be snappy due to fear and strong boundaries, and may always need sedated grooms. Patience and positive reinforcement with treats and brief interactions will help him feel more secure.

• For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on past experiences, we do not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.
