06/03/26 12:09 Meet Teddy! Teddy is a 2-year-old dog with a very soft, sensitive temperament who is currently struggling with significant shutdown behavior in the shelter environment. At times he becomes so overwhelmed that he has needed to be carried, and once placed he may remain frozen or extremely still, showing very limited movement or engagement when alone in his kennel or during handling. In quieter moments, he may cautiously approach, sniff a presented hand, and slowly begin to check in with his surroundings, but overall he remains very shut down in the kennel setting. With other dogs, Teddy shows a very different side of himself. He relaxes quickly, becomes more animated, and engages in loose, social behavior including running and playing. He has shown friendly, forward social interactions and appears to gain confidence when paired with other dogs, suggesting he may benefit from social support in a less stressful environment.

Teddy would thrive in a calm, patient home or rescue setting that can help him decompress and build confidence gradually at his own pace. He is a very sweet young dog who needs time, safety, and consistency to feel secure enough to show his full personality.
