Bear Buddy Heart

Bear is a handsome, confident, and people-loving guy with a big personality to match his big presence! He's estimated to be just over one year old and weighs around 60 lbs. While his breed is likely a pittie mix, we can't be sure with rescue dogs. What we do know is that Bear is eager to learn, responsive, and very treat-motivated, making him a joy to train! He absolutely soaks up attention and loves to be involved in whatever you're doing, whether it's lounging nearby or joining in on activities. Bear is already house and crate trained, bringing some fantastic pre-programmed skills to his new home.

Ideal Home

Bear would do well with a confident, calm, larger female dog who won't be overwhelmed by his size or playfulness. A dog-savvy, confident cat might also be a good fit with slow introductions. He thrives in a home that provides regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training.

Training & Support

Bear is still working on leash manners, as he can get excited when he sees other dogs. With clear and consistent handling, he responds well to corrections and can settle. He also has a puppy-like enthusiasm when playing with other dogs, which can sometimes be a bit much. However, he shows respect once he gets to know other dogs and will likely be a wonderfully fun playmate with the right match and proper introductions. He loves enrichment puzzles which are great for his mental stimulation.

Transporation

Bear is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via our rescue's USDA certified transport system. A surcharge of $87 applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
