Meet Loki! This adorable 3-year-old Terrier mix, weighing around 11 pounds, is searching for his loyal best friend. Loki has a charming wire-haired coat and a gentle soul, making him the perfect companion for anyone seeking a devoted furry family member. He's a calm and well-mannered boy who enjoys being close to his people and loves car rides. While Loki can be a bit shy with new faces, a little patience and kindness will reveal his sweet personality and wagging tail. He adores affection and is happy to simply be by your side, enjoying your company. Loki's journey began when he was found near a school in Saltillo, Mexico. He was taken in for care but never reclaimed, eventually finding his way to our rescue program where he received the attention and veterinary care he deserved. Now, Loki is healthy, safe, and ready to embark on his next adventure to a loving forever home.

Ideal Home

Loki would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. He's looking for adopters with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs of street animals, including the necessity for protection and education. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a commitment to hiring a trainer, will help Loki reach his full potential. High tolerance and patience are essential for this intelligent boy.

Ongoing Health

Loki has received a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated for DHPPI, rabies, and bordetella, dewormed, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. He is up-to-date on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet. Please note that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period and may not be house-trained.

Training & Support

Loki is not house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Patience and understanding are crucial for rescued dogs as they adjust to new environments and people. Providing a safe, loving environment, establishing a routine, and clear boundaries will help Loki feel secure and build trust.

• Please submit photos/videos of your home as part of the application process.
• A virtual home tour will be conducted if your application is a match.
• Two references will be contacted.
• An adoption contract will be signed, and an adoption fee will be collected prior to your pet's arrival to cover vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.

Transporation

Loki is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. A transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. Our transport partners organize scheduled trips 3-4 times per year, ensuring a safe and comfortable journey with real-time updates provided through a private Facebook Messenger group.
