About Coraline

Coraline is a sweet, laid-back 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix, currently weighing 45 lbs. She's estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. Coraline is a delightful blend of sweet, curious, silly, and cuddly, always keeping her foster family entertained with her quirky charm. She adores playing peek-a-boo and gets the happiest zoomies when you join in. Coraline is deeply people-oriented and loves to be close to her humans, following them around like a gentle shadow. She shows affection through sweet puppy kisses and resting a paw or her nose against your leg. Her calm and balanced temperament makes her an excellent work-from-home companion, happy to entertain herself quietly. She's also incredibly social with people and other dogs, greeting new friends with a calm approach before continuing her play or exploration. Coraline is the perfect mix of playful and laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive – she'll be your little sidekick, shadow, and best friend all in one.

Ideal Home

Coraline would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks to cozy evenings on the couch. She'll be happy to join you on short neighborhood strolls or longer hikes and beach days. She loves puzzle toys, treat-dispensing games, and squeaky toys. Coraline would benefit from a family that understands she is still gaining confidence in busy public areas, but with more exposure and socialization, she has the potential to be an amazing outdoor adventure buddy. She would absolutely adore a family that includes her in their outdoor adventures while also appreciating her calm, affectionate nature at home. She needs to live in a home with a fenced yard and no apartments or condos due to her size and potential nervousness in busy areas. Coraline needs to have another dog in her forever home as she thrives with canine companionship. She could happily live with older children and cats that are dog-friendly and have prior experience with dogs. Her ideal family will spend lots of quality time with her and love her unconditionally.

Ongoing Health

Coraline is currently up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and has undergone flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has also received a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and any necessary vet care while in rescue.

Training & Support

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained and sleeps soundly in her kennel at night, though she loves to sleep in bed with her foster mom. She uses doggy stairs to get on and off the bed and is happy to curl up at the foot of the bed or sleep in a dog bed nearby. She readily enters her kennel for treats and the door to be closed. Coraline is in the process of leash training and needs extra practice to build her confidence on walks; she is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with rewards. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a doggy door. She needs to be taken out every 3-4 hours initially and kept on a consistent schedule until she settles into her new routine. Using a doggy doorbell by the back door is recommended if a doggy door is not available.
