Weeman

Weeman is a handsome, friendly adult dog who is still learning about the world at four years old. He and three of his housemates came to us when their owners had to surrender them due to a divorce and loss of their home. The hounds were malnourished and unkempt, and a bit uncertain of their new surroundings, but they've navigated the transition to rescue smoothly. Weeman can be a little shy at first, but with loving, gentle touch, he warms up quickly and becomes a happy boy. He has a short, flat tri-colored coat that is mostly black and tan with white markings. He's a large dog, weighing in at a lean 47 pounds, but could comfortably reach 50 pounds.

Ideal Home

Weeman would thrive in an active home with another well-adjusted dog to show him the ropes. He's looking for a dog-savvy single or couple who can provide him with at least one to two leisurely leash walks daily so he can meander and enjoy all the smells.

Ongoing Health

Weeman has been neutered, vaccinated, and has received routine health screenings.

Training & Support

Weeman needs plenty of exercise and focused playtime to prevent boredom and potential mischief. His confidence will benefit greatly from ongoing obedience training, which also provides essential mental stimulation. He is slowly learning commands and is very treat-motivated, responding well to positive reinforcement and leadership techniques. While he has good house manners and is mostly house and crate trained, adopters should be prepared for occasional accidents during his transition.
