Meet Bolt – #MADLoveBolt
Bolt's journey began just before the holidays when he and another dog were found wandering into a quiet Miami neighborhood, having come from near a busy road. Neighbors kindly stepped in to ensure their safety while searching for their family. A vet visit revealed no microchip, and despite extensive efforts, no owner was found. Now, Bolt is ready to embark on the next chapter of his life and find the loving forever home he truly deserves.
Bolt is a charming, approximately 4.5-year-old, 80 lb male Belgian Malinois. He is neutered, vaccinated, and a pro at house training. He walks beautifully on a leash and has mastered his basic commands, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. Bolt is highly trainable and settles nicely in his wire crate. He absolutely adores people and thrives on attention – it’s his favorite reward! Despite his breed, he’s a big cuddle bug with a surprisingly mellow side and an off-switch for relaxing. He shows no signs of food aggression and is comfortable with hand-feeding or sharing bowls with other dogs. He’s also very calm and trusting during vet visits and with handlers.
Ideal Home
Bolt thrives with human companionship and would do best in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He has shown himself to be an escape artist and requires extra vigilance with secure fences, gates, and doors, especially during his adjustment period in a new home.
Ongoing Health
Bolt has no known health conditions.
Training & Support
Bolt is house-trained and knows his basic commands. He can get excited around unfamiliar dogs, so slow, proper introductions and patience are key when integrating him with resident dogs. He is cat-curious and, while promising, still requires slow introductions and supervision around feline friends. Bolt has also been calm and respectful around children. He is a vocal communicator and will let you know when it's time for dinner, to go outside, or if someone is passing by.
