Meet Yeager, a tall, athletic, and handsome Doberman with a personality as boundless as his energy. He's a complex character, but overwhelmingly happy and ready to embrace life with enthusiastic chaos. While his gaze might suggest a simple mind, Yeager is a canine with a lot going on, often in hilariously unexpected ways! He's described as a "full-time project dog" who is selective with his dog friends, doing best with female dogs and smaller to medium-sized males. He has also shown success with cats and older children. Yeager is incredibly happy, confident, and always eager for an adventure.
Ideal Home
Yeager needs an experienced, active, and consistent human or humans who are prepared to dedicate themselves to ongoing training and will not be deterred when he inevitably tests boundaries. Previous experience with Dobermans or other working breeds is strongly preferred. If you are looking for a calm and easy-going companion, Yeager might not be the right fit. However, if you're seeking a high-drive, hilarious, and incredibly rewarding project dog, Yeager could be your perfect match.
Ongoing Health
Yeager is a deep-chested breed, so awareness of potential health concerns related to this is required.
Training & Support
Yeager is potty-trained but will have accidents indoors and may mark. He doesn't consistently understand or respect human correction and learns patterns quickly to use them to his advantage, especially when food is involved. He rarely settles, especially around other animals, and can be destructive with items like beds and feeders. He eats very quickly and is immediately ready to run and jump. Yeager is not untrainable but requires a patient, experienced handler who is committed to structured, ongoing training. This is not a dog for those who prefer to "figure it out as you go."
