Goldie

Goldie is a beautiful 6-year-old retriever mix who traveled all the way from Azerbaijan to Canada in search of the one thing she's never truly had: a family of her own. She's currently thriving in foster care and is looking for her forever home. Goldie is gentle, affectionate, and happiest when she's surrounded by her people, quietly becoming a part of the family and following you from room to room. She would love a home where someone is present during the day. Her foster mom describes her as an exceptional family dog with no reactivity or behavioral issues. She adores children and seems to have an instinctive, nurturing nature around them, calmly handling fast movements and busy play. Volunteers lovingly call her a "mother's helper." Goldie gets along well with other dogs and would be happy to share her home with a canine companion. She has shown more curiosity than determination with cats, so a cat-free home or one with slow introductions would be ideal. She enjoys having a fenced yard with plenty of green space where she can wander and sniff. Off-leash in a secure area is her favorite kind of outdoor hang! Goldie's love of music is charming; she truly listens and will happily join in with her own sweet song. Goldie has survived a lot and is now ready for the easy part: a yard to explore, children to watch over, a family to follow, and a soft place to sleep.

Ideal Home

Goldie would love a home where someone is present during the day and a fenced yard with plenty of green space. A cat-free home or one with slow introductions would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Goldie is spayed and vaccinated. She previously had papillomas removed through surgery.

Training & Support

Goldie has no known reactivity or behavioral issues. She doesn't seem to enjoy leash walks currently, though that may change with time.
