Say hello to William, a 5-year-old, 85-pound, Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix! If you’re looking for a dog who thinks people are the absolute best thing since rotisserie chicken, this big white fluff is your guy. At five years old, he has perfected the art of leaning into you for maximum petting. If adoration were an Olympic sport, he’d be bringing home the gold.
Ideal Home
William is not interested in sharing his fan club and needs to be the only dog in the home. He loves going to the dog park to play with other dogs, but he wants zero competition for your attention at home. Until recently, William had been fine with cats, but he has decided they are not OK now, so he will need a no-cat home. William is a lovely, sweet dog who is a flock guardian to the bone. He’ll do best in a home with no kids or teens and up. This isn't because he's a threat to them, but it is because he likes them too much and little kids have friends they like to bring home, and William first has to decide if they are a threat to the little people's safety, and then it becomes overwhelming for him trying to guard all that tininess. William considers kids badly behaved sheep who do things that put them at risk. He's not wrong, but he can't be the one to make that call, and this is why he needs a home with an owner with flock guardian dog experience. A securely fenced yard is non-negotiable, as he will roam the perimeter he decides is his without a fence. He loves being outside where he can supervise his kingdom, but when it comes down to it, his real joy is being right next to you.
