Frida Golden Girl Glow

If you've ever wanted to be someone's whole world, Frida is ready for the role and thinks it's the perfect time to make it official. This golden girl doesn't need the biggest adventures; she is looking for the real good stuff... a soft couch, a kind voice, gentle hands, and a home that understands that adopting a senior is really choosing to be the biggest character in a chapter where love matters most.

Frida is estimated to be around 8 years old, possibly a Pittie mix, and weighs a cool 61 lbs. She lights up the second you sweet talk her and glows when you love on her. Frida has decided the best use of her time is soaking up affection, and she will happily make the first move to become a lap dog, all 61 pounds of her! She is gentle and dedicated to this goal and understands that little kids are not where she can pursue this lap-dog life. She recently met a 7-year-old boy named Cash and they were fast friends, snuggling up after some treats. She is the kind of dog where the term "family dog" feels so natural.

During a recent rainy afternoon, Frida met other dogs and showed friendly, confident greetings. She kept them short and sweet, relaxed and happy. She wasn't interested in playing, perhaps because they were inside, but she demonstrated good house manners and is more of an easy-going companion rather than a play-all-day type. She has great social sense with other dogs and isn't bothered by them playing.

Ideal Home

Frida may be an older gal but she does enjoy exploring the world and still gets excited to soak in the smells. She is being gentle-lead trained and is doing great with low-pressure practice. She could easily be an apartment dog once she polishes those leash manners, but she would naturally welcome a home with a yard for sun-bathing days. Sweet senior lady life shows a bit in her back legs where she is just a bit weaker, so no stairs as a daily activity and an occasional boost may be needed to get on the couch.

Training & Support

Frida's leash skills are a work in progress, but she is being gentle-lead trained and doing well. She is working on her house manners and enjoys a relaxed companion lifestyle.

• The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship).
• An $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.

Transporation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (with pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track their journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
