Meet Pepe, a 3-year-old, approximately 48 lb, neutered male Pit Bull Mix who is as resilient as he is affectionate. Pepe is a "velcro dog" who truly cherishes companionship and forms deep bonds with his people. He's a goofy, social soul who thrives on being included in everyday life. Whether he's cuddling on the couch, enjoying a walk, or simply relaxing nearby, Pepe is happiest when he's with his family. He has a sensitive side, requiring some extra protection outdoors like pet-safe sunscreen and SPF shirts due to his skin, which has greatly improved with consistent care after he arrived as a stray in rough condition. Pepe is an enthusiastic walker and would likely do best in a home where someone is around more often, such as a retired individual, someone who works from home, or a household where he won't be left alone for extended periods. He's house-trained and crate-trained and has done well with children, other dogs, and cats in his foster home. Pepe responds best to gentle, positive reinforcement and can become fearful if corrected harshly. He's also an adventurous explorer, so a securely fenced yard and careful door management are recommended. His foster has noticed improvement in his skin after switching to a non-chicken diet, and it's still advised he wear sun-protective gear outdoors. Pepe is looking for a true companion to share life's moments with, and in return, he offers unwavering affection and best-friendship.
