Meet Hansel! This handsome 46lb Black Mouth Curr Mix was estimated to be born on April 28, 2025. Hansel is a sweet and gentle soul who might be a little reserved when he first meets new people. But don't let that fool you! Once he feels comfortable, his wonderful, loving personality truly shines. He's the kind of companion who enjoys his own quiet explorations of the world, taking everything in at his own pace. While he has a calm and independent side, Hansel also has a playful spirit and enjoys energetic playtime with other dogs. So far, he's been introduced to female dogs and has done wonderfully with them. At a recent adoption event, he was a superstar, making friends with both two-legged and four-legged attendees, especially kids! Hansel is kennel-trained and loves to snuggle up with soft blankets and pillows after a day of adventures. He's also a big fan of chew toys, happily entertaining himself. Bath time? No problem for this handsome guy – he handles it like a champ!

• Our adoption fees are based on the vetting we put into each dog. Fees for puppies (under 12 months) are higher because they require more vetting than dogs over 1 year.
• Listed breed and age are based on a best guess estimation by rescue and veterinary staff; DNA tests are not included in adoption.
• Our adopters are eligible to receive 50% off training with Curbed Behaviors Dog Training for programs booked within 30 days of adoption, and 25% off programs booked within 60-90 days of adoption.
• All of our adopters are invited to join our Alum Pupdates Facebook group, to share their story and their adorable pup with fellow Sunnyside Street Dogs adopters!

Transporation

Hansel is located in Houston, TX, and transport is available out of state! We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
