Meet Jimmy Chew, also known as Buddy! This sweet boy arrived at PACC as a tripod with severe, untreated valley fever. He's been in a wonderful foster home where his health has significantly improved, though it's been a long journey for him. Buddy is still a bit timid and scared of new things, but he's blossomed into a devoted companion for his foster parent!
He coexists peacefully with two other foster dogs, though he doesn't actively play with them, preferring to just be in their presence. Toys aren't his thing, and you'll most often find him relaxing in one of his two beds. While he's generally good with the two young children in the household, he prefers to keep his distance when things get lively. Buddy is good on a leash for short, daily walks and has done well with the two parrots in his foster home. He's never been observed to bark or make any vocalizations. He follows his foster parent closely and tolerates others, but it takes time for him to warm up. He has the run of the house and has never been crated. Buddy's foster parent has dedicated themselves to pampering him, making all his meals and ensuring his life is comfortable. He's a special boy who needs patience and love to truly shine.
Ideal Home
A patient and understanding home that can provide a calm environment. Buddy needs time to warm up to new people and situations, so a quiet household with a consistent routine would be ideal. He is good with children and other dogs, but prefers not to be in the middle of high-energy situations.
Ongoing Health
Buddy is a tripod and has a history of valley fever. His health has improved significantly, but he requires ongoing care and monitoring.
Training & Support
Buddy is a bit timid and startles easily, so it's important to move slowly around him. He needs time and gentle encouragement to build trust with new people. He is house-trained and walks well on a leash for short distances.
