Meet Juice, a charming 4-year-old, 56 lb Black Mouth Cur mix with the most soulful eyes you've ever seen! Juice, who goes by "Joey" with his foster, is a sweet boy who has been through a lot and is now dreaming of a calm, loving home where he can finally be someone's whole world. He's affectionate, loves to cuddle, and has a special way of showing his love by resting his head and paw on your arm. While he can be a bit shy and wary with new people, slow and gentle introductions help him build trust, and once he does, he's incredibly loyal and devoted. Juice enjoys his toys and is happy to quietly hang out with his favorite person.
Ideal Home
Juice would do best in a quiet home with soft-spoken, patient adults who understand that healing takes time. He needs a cat-free home as he is not cat friendly and will chase. He would be happiest as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the attention.
Ongoing Health
Juice has a history of some food aggression with other dogs, but with stability and routine, he has made great progress. He eats separately in his crate and may still guard high-value treats, which can be managed by respecting his boundaries.
Training & Support
Juice pulls on the leash when excited and is working on this. He responds best to patience and kindness, as harsh correction can cause him to cower and feel guilty. He is always crated when left alone due to his love for chewing, and he has had some potty accidents. He sleeps well in his crate through the night. Juice does great in the car but may need assistance getting in.
