Leon

Leon is a handsome and loving boy who's approximately 1 year old and weighs about 30 lbs. He's a delightful mix of Labrador and Creole heritage, rescued in March 2024 after being found with his siblings in a field. Leon is intelligent, obedient, and full of playful energy. He's incredibly sociable with people, children, and other dogs, enjoying walks, runs, and lots of affection. While a little shy at first with new faces, he quickly warms up and melts into your arms. He's also dog and cat friendly, docile, joyful, and funny. Leon is already crate and leash trained, making him a well-adjusted companion.

Ideal Home

We're looking for homeowners with a fenced backyard who lead active lifestyles and enjoy outdoor adventures. Families with an open mind and heart for rescued animals, understanding their need for protection and education, are ideal. Prior experience with dog behavior and training is a plus, as is a high tolerance and patience for rescued pups. Please note, Leon is not currently house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Leon has completed an extensive health protocol. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on his DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. He has been dewormed, tested negative for heartworm and the 4DX test, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

While Leon is crate and leash trained, he is not house-trained. We understand that rescued animals have unique needs, and we encourage patience and consistent positive reinforcement to help him fully adjust.

• A home check (virtual or in-person) will be conducted.
• A virtual meet-and-greet will be arranged with you, Leon, and his foster.
• A trial adoption period will follow, with ongoing communication required.

Transporation

Leon is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation to your home address on the East Coast is available for an additional fee.
