Rico

Rico is an almost 2-year-old, 62 lb male Hound/Rottie mix who was unfortunately dumped by his previous family when they moved. Despite his rough start, Rico has remained hopeful and sweet, quickly befriending the resident pups in his foster home and enjoying playtime with them. He's a cuddly companion to his foster family, though he may take a little time to warm up to new people. Rico is already potty and kennel trained, walks well on a leash, and enjoys playing with toys without being destructive. He's content to be a couch potato indoors but loves to romp and chase balls and bubbles outdoors with his canine friends.

Ideal Home

Rico would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can explore and lounge outdoors. He's looking for a loving family to call his own.

Ongoing Health

Rico has a rear leg that sometimes causes him to limp or sit in peculiar ways, but it does not appear to cause him pain and doesn't stop him from enjoying his activities.

Training & Support

Rico is potty and kennel trained and walks well on a leash. He is well-behaved indoors and not destructive with toys.

Transportation

Rico is currently located in South Texas and will be transported to his new home. We are an established rescue group based in Texas and deliver to multiple states on the East and West Coast, with placement in adoptive families' homes. Our adoption fee of $500 includes all core vaccinations (DHPP, rabies), spay/neuter, microchip, health certificate, and transportation fees.
