About Darcy

Hi! I’m Darcy, a 2-year-old sweetheart with a mysterious past. I was rescued from a municipal shelter, but my foster family has showered me with love and helped me blossom. I'm a true affection sponge, and I identify as a lap dog, eager to snuggle up with my favorite person.

My foster family says I'm a joy to be around! I love children, even toddlers, and I'm a big fan of car rides, walks, and hikes. I'm athletic and adore being outdoors, and while I'm still working on my leash manners (I get so excited for exercise!), I'm a quick learner. Chew toys are my absolute favorite!

I'm not bothered by thunder or heavy rain, but I am a bit skittish around sudden loud noises. I do tend to bark at newcomers, like delivery drivers, and can be a bit reserved with visitors initially. I'm also a bit picky about meeting other dogs – I prefer a slow introduction and some space. My biggest wish is to find a home with a single woman who has children, and a yard is a must! I'd love a home with no shared walls so I can feel truly comfortable.

It might take me a little time to feel completely confident, but I have a huge heart and a deep desire to make my humans happy – and to be happy myself!

Ideal Home

A home with a yard and no shared walls is ideal for me. I would love to live with a single woman with children.

Ongoing Health

I am fully vetted.

Training & Support

I am potty trained using a dog door and crate trained, though I don't enjoy long periods in my crate. I'm working on not pulling on the leash during walks. I can be snarky to visitors I don't know and bark at strangers at the door. I need slow introductions to other dogs.
