Meet Saffron, a handsome shaded red wirehaired Miniature Dachshund who is ready for his forever home! He was born on October 6, 2023, and is eager to bring warmth and joy to a loving family. Saffron is a playful and affectionate companion who enjoys settling in close with his people. He is a crate champion and settles in beautifully and quietly.

Ideal Home

Saffron would thrive in a home that understands his classic Dachshund stranger-shyness. He needs slow, patient introductions to new people. Due to his high prey drive and vocal tendencies around cats and chickens, he cannot be trusted loose with these animals. He absolutely adores gentle toddlers and gets along wonderfully with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Saffron has received his initial vaccine series and deworming. He will also receive proper vet checks and health care before going home. A lifetime genetic health guarantee is included, though IVDD is excluded as disclosed at enrollment.

Training & Support

Saffron is crate-trained and very comfortable in his crate. He is at a nursery level for potty training and will need foundational house training from scratch. He is discerning with strangers but becomes an affectionate social butterfly within his trusted circle. You'll receive lifelong Companion Parent support through the Legacy Lounge.
