About Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, 56-pound, neutered male hound/retriever mix with a zest for life and a heart full of love to give! He was rescued from the streets and is now in a loving foster home, showing off his playful spirit and affectionate nature. Comet, also known as Buddy, is a well-behaved boy who enjoys zoomies and has a balanced playstyle, with no reported food or resource aggression. He's a quick learner who aims to please, making training a joy.

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with a canine sibling to play and snuggle with. He has done well with indoor cats and children, but due to his herding instincts, a home with kids aged 10 and older, or those who can understand and respect animal behavior cues, is recommended. While he can be a bit wary of men, with patience and consistency from his new family, he will surely warm up.

Ongoing Health

Comet is a healthy boy, with no specific health conditions to note at this time.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his kennel without fuss and walks politely on a leash without pulling. He's been accident-free in the house and will let you know when he needs to go outside. While he doesn't show signs of separation anxiety, he is crated when unsupervised as he has a tendency to taste-test household items.
