Griff

Meet Griff, a handsome 5-year-old German Shepherd-Pit mix looking for his forever home. Griff is a sweet, energetic, loyal, alert, and very intelligent dog who loves his human and canine friends. He enjoys hiking, backpacking, trail running, bike rides, playing fetch, and performing his many tricks. He's also great at home, snoozing on the couch when you're gone, and is crate trained and walks well on a leash.

Griff was found abandoned at a construction site in 2021, tied up in freezing temperatures with a bark collar. Thankfully, he was rescued and has since made great strides with the help of a dog trainer, gaining confidence and a sense of safety.

Ideal Home

Griff would thrive in an active home with a family that is experienced with reactive dogs and can provide a structured and engaging lifestyle. He is not a good fit for a home with children or cats.

Griff is up-to-date on vaccines.

Training & Support

While Griff has made excellent progress, he can be reactive towards new people and dogs. He needs a structured routine to safely meet others and build trusting relationships. He cannot safely meet dogs off-leash, and strangers should not approach him for petting without him feeling safe and calm first. His owners are diligent in avoiding situations that could lead to trouble.
