Tommy is a charming 3-year-old Terrier Mix weighing in at 40 pounds. He's a resilient soul who has overcome significant adversity. Tommy arrived at the shelter in rough shape, suffering from severe pressure sores on his hips and being significantly underweight. Despite his challenges, he maintained a loving demeanor and a hopeful spirit. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of our veterinary team, a generous donor, and our compassionate animal care staff, Tommy has made a remarkable recovery. He's gained a healthy amount of weight, and his sores have almost completely healed. Now, Tommy is ready to leave his past behind and find a family who will shower him with the unconditional love he truly deserves. He's a pretty laid-back guy who doesn't get easily flustered. He enjoys exploring in the yard, basking in the sun like a potato, and is comfortable sharing his space with other dogs and children. Tommy takes treats gently and walks beautifully on a leash. While not completely potty-trained, he is very good about using the designated outdoor potty area. He has a fondness for a thick, comfy blanket to help with his hips and pressure sores, so a soft bed would be a welcome addition to his new home. Tommy also enjoys 'talking' to his humans when he's seeking attention or a tasty treat!
