Wally

Wally is a 5-year-old Dachshund who is a true character! He's a fast learner, mastering housetraining in just three days, though he may revert to using pee pads if they're available, as he was accustomed to them in his previous home. Wally is a bit of a ladies' man and can be vocal towards men and visitors. He's currently living with seven senior dogs and seems to do well with them, showing indifference, so he could likely be happy in a home with or without canine companions. A playmate with a similar energy level would be a bonus. Wally has shown some instances of resource guarding, particularly when it comes to his favorite human. He embodies all the charming quirks that Dachshund enthusiasts know and love. He's incredibly fast, loves turbo-speed zoomies in the yard, and enjoys playing fetch. However, Wally has a strong fear of leashes and anything with wheels, including cars, bikes, and skateboards. We are hopeful he will overcome these fears. He tolerates car rides but is apprehensive. He's a fantastic eater and absolutely requires a backyard.

Training & Support

Wally needs continued work on his leash reactivity and his fear of wheeled objects. Patience and positive reinforcement will be key to helping him build confidence.
