About Coraline

Coraline is a sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix who currently weighs 45 lbs and is expected to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. She has an irresistible quirky charm that brings laughter daily. Coraline adores playing peek-a-boo and will do happy zoomies when you join in! She's deeply people-oriented and loves being near her humans, following them around like a shadow. She shows affection through sweet puppy kisses and gentle paws or noses resting against your leg. Coraline has a calm and balanced temperament, making her a great work-from-home buddy, happy to entertain herself quietly. She's also incredibly social with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before happily resuming play. Coraline is the perfect blend of playful and laid-back, independent yet loving, goofy yet intuitive – your loyal sidekick and best friend.

Ideal Home

Coraline is low to medium energy with short bursts of puppy exuberance, which are easily managed with play. She enjoys leisurely walks, hikes, patio outings, and cozy evenings. She thrives when included in daily routines and would love a fenced yard for sunbathing and playing. Due to her size and occasional nervousness in busy areas, apartments or condos are not ideal. She absolutely needs to have another dog in her forever home, as she thrives with canine companionship. She would do well with either calmer older dogs or playful, spunky dogs and is adaptable to different personalities. Coraline loves children and has been around ages 3 and up. She would do best with older children who understand she's a big, goofy puppy that doesn't always realize her size, as she could accidentally knock over a very young child. She would also be able to join a family with a cat, preferably one that is dog-friendly and has prior experience with dogs. Coraline's ideal family will spend quality time with her and love her unconditionally. Public dog parks are not recommended to avoid potential health risks or negative interactions. She does need her human home most of the time but would be fine with occasional doggy daycare.

Ongoing Health

Coraline is a healthy puppy.

Training & Support

Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She sleeps in her kennel at night without fuss but enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster mom. She uses doggy stairs to get on and off the bed and will rest at the foot of the bed or on a dog bed nearby. She readily enters her kennel when directed and enjoys treats inside. Coraline is learning leash training and needs extra practice to build confidence on walks. She is treat-motivated and walks well with positive reinforcement but will require continued practice in her new home. She alerts her foster mom when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can use a doggy door independently. It is recommended to take her out every 3-4 hours on a consistent schedule initially and consider a doggy doorbell if a doggy door is not available.
