Florence, affectionately nicknamed Flora, Flory, Lory, or Sweetpea, is a playful and energetic 3-year-old Carolina Dog mix, weighing 46 pounds. She’s a love bug who enjoys wrestling and being chased, and can play for hours! Flora has experience playing with dogs of various sizes and loves interacting with her canine foster sibling. She has been spayed and is fully housebroken. Flora is smart, submissive, and affectionate, and loves learning new tricks. While she can be a work in progress, she will reward you with years of love and companionship!
Ideal Home
Flora would do best in a moderately active home with a dedicated owner who is often around, enjoys walks or jogs, and will play fetch with her. A home with no other pets or a well-balanced dog of similar age, size, and energy level would be ideal. She thrives with regular outdoor play sessions. Flora needs an owner who will continue positive reinforcement training to help with her anxiety and leash reactivity. Due to her nervousness around new children and stranger danger when people first enter the home, an adult household is preferred at this time.
Ongoing Health
Flora has demonstrated some anxiety in the crate at home, but has no issues when boarded. She shares her toys well and has no issues with people and food, although she needs reminders to take treats gently. She is terrified of storms and will seek shelter when they occur.
Training & Support
Flora exhibits some leash reactivity, which has been worked on by her foster parents. She may do best as the only pet in the home. Consistent training using positive reinforcement is recommended to help her with leash skills and to build confidence around new dogs and stimuli.

Transporation
Flora is currently in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport once approved.
