Elke (3mo, 15lbs)

Elke is a 3-month-old, 15lb female Hound German Shepherd Dog mix. She was rescued from a difficult situation where she and her siblings were living outdoors. Thanks to the kindness of a volunteer, Elke was kept safe and fed until she could be brought into our care. Now, she's embracing her puppyhood to the fullest! She's curious, full of energy, and brings a special kind of joy that only a young dog can offer. Elke is ready to explore the world with her new family and is eager to learn that it can be a safe and loving place. In return for your patience and love, she'll become your most loyal best friend and give you the incredible reward of changing a life.

Ideal Home

Elke is a puppy and will need a patient and loving home that can commit to her training and socialization. She has done well with other dogs and children under 8.

Elke is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

As a puppy, Elke will need consistent training and socialization to help her continue learning about the world and how to be a well-adjusted dog.

Transporation

Elke is located at Summers County Humane Society in Hinton, WV. We work with rescues in northeastern states via the For All Paws Sake transport network, and dogs can be transported as far as New England on Saturdays.
