Smokey is a 2-year-old, 60-pound male Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and ready to find his forever family! Smokey is a super sweet boy who just wants love and attention. He is very smart and a quick learner, with a gentle nature and friendly personality. He's described as "kind-hearted" and "affectionate," a total couch potato who's happy to relax with you all day. He's a loyal companion who just wants to be part of a family, and he will happily curl up beside you to provide gentle companionship.
Ideal Home
Smokey would thrive in a home that offers love, patience, and a cozy place to rest. He would prefer a home without cats. Due to his shyness with new people, he would do best in a low-traffic home. He would also do well in a home with a doggie companion, as he loves playing with other dogs. Smokey would LOVE a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day, as he does have some separation anxiety.

Training & Support
Smokey walks great on a leash and is fully potty trained. He can be a little nervous around strangers and might bark out of excitement, but is easily redirected. He does get excited in the beginning and will pull slightly, but he settles in and walks calmly by your side once the excitement wears off. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in. He does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and does stop crying.
