Bear is a handsome, confident, and people-loving 1-year-old dog with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Weighing in at 60 lbs, he's likely a pittie mix, but as with all rescues, breed and age are our best guess. Bear is a dog who is ready to learn and eager to engage. He's treat-motivated, responsive, and has already mastered house and crate training. Bear thrives on human interaction and enjoys being part of whatever you're doing, whether it's soaking up attention or simply lounging nearby.
Ideal Home
Bear would do well in a home that can provide regular exercise, mental stimulation, and ongoing training. He would do best with a confident, calm, larger female dog who won't be overwhelmed by his playful energy. He has shown signs that he could live peacefully with a feline friend, but it would require a dog-savvy, confident cat and slow introductions.
Ongoing Health
Bear is a healthy young dog.
Training & Support
Bear is still learning how to manage his excitement on leash, especially around other dogs, and will need continued guidance. While he can be a bit pushy in play with other dogs due to his puppy-like enthusiasm, he has shown respect for boundaries, as demonstrated with a feisty chihuahua in his foster home. With structure, proper introductions, and the right dog match, he will be a wonderfully fun playmate. Bear loves enrichment puzzles, which are a great way to provide mental stimulation.
