Meet Penny, a sweet and spirited 2-year-old, 62-pound spayed female Shepherd/Husky mix! Penny is a true gem with a bright outlook and a heart full of love. She's a curious, social, and outgoing girl who thrives on adventure and affection, always eager to be close to her people.
Ideal Home
Penny would flourish in an active environment where she can stay engaged and close to her family. She enjoys the company of other dogs, but would do best with confident, medium-to-large dogs who can set healthy boundaries, as she can be a bit boisterous in play. Given her exuberance and herding instincts, a home with older teens or adults who understand dog behavior and can help channel her energy would be ideal. A cat-free home is recommended due to her prey-driven behavior outdoors.
Ongoing Health
Penny is a healthy girl.
Training & Support
Penny is house-trained and is learning to be more comfortable with separation, though she prefers not to be left alone and may whine or bark initially. She has not yet been crate trained. She is generally trustworthy in the house when food and tempting items are put away, though she may chew on dog beds when bored. Penny can be protective of her space and high-value items like food or toys around other dogs, but with clear boundaries and respectful management, she has made great progress. She is sensitive and can flinch easily, needing reassurance and calm, consistent care. Patience and understanding will help her continue to blossom.
