Meet Dahlia! This beautiful 44lb Black Lab mix, born around May 5, 2023, has a heart as big as her puppy energy! She's a fun-loving, sweet girl who's always ready for an adventure, a cuddle, or a new friend. Dahlia is eager to learn, loves being around people, and gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats alike.
Her story is one of resilience and hope. She was found keeping her six-week-old puppies safe under a house, and after their rescue and adoption, Dahlia herself was just minutes from euthanasia when a foster stepped in and changed her life forever. Now safe and thriving, this happy pup is ready for the forever home she truly deserves. She thrives with companionship and would do best in a home with other animals to play with and learn from. Whether she's zooming around the yard, making new friends at the park, or curling up after a busy day, she brings joy everywhere she goes.

Training & Support
Dahlia is already using a doggy door to go potty like a pro and is currently learning leash training. Like many young dogs, she still has some puppy habits she's working through. She is working on crate training, and plenty of toys are very helpful for her success. She absolutely loves having lots of toys to play with and does best when she has enrichment and companionship. She's still young, curious, and learning about the world, so she'll do best with a family excited to continue her training and help her grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be.

Transportation
Dahlia is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and may vary in pickup locations, including to nearby towns or states. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas to your state or a neighboring state. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles (vans/buses) converted for dog transport. Each adopter has the ability to track the van using the app Life360, and receives updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are another resource to stay informed on tracking dogs on transport. Please be able to use one of these available services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
